Having Yateley Common nearby has countless advantages. Whether you own a dog, a bike, or a desire to roam nature, it offers countless ways to enjoy the great outdoors, without having to hop in a car or board a busy bus. However, there is one rather large, rather noisy downside. Chiefly, that with the common comes Blackbushe Airport. Though no longer the second largest airfield in the UK, as it once was, its fall from grace in the aerospace world does not seemed to have coincided with a fall in noise pollution. While I’ll concede that there are worse kinds of pollution, be it air, waste, or water, it can still be annoying, ruining peace and quiet in the garden. The one exception I will grant is that I like Spitfires flying overhead, they can stay.
